33 Weeks Pregnant Update

Baby is a: Pineapple

Weight gained: 3 lbs

Total Weight gained: 43 lbs

33 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms:  My skin is such a mess. Not only do I have dark spots, which is common during the third trimester and will go away, but also am breaking out. Back to my Tea Tree Shampoo, the only thing that has ever helped any skin issue I have had. I also am trying to find time in the morning to put on my foundation well. Since wearing foundation again, someone told me pregnancy has been doing wonders for my skin. Haha.

Cravings: Sweets, which seems to be the theme of this pregnancy. I just absolutely love frozen yogurt and the hot weather makes me crave it even more!

Aversions: Nothing

Sleep: Sleep for me is all over the place. I have no idea but some days I am so tired I have to take a nap and then I go to bed super early. Other days, I feel like I have energy for days. The kicking is also starting be problematic if I’m trying to fall asleep but am not super tired.

Excited for: Planning and spending some time with my toddler. She will only be my only baby for a few more weeks or so. I know how much time a newborn takes and really want to make sure I can do some fun summer activities and day trips with her before her sister’s arrival.

Missing: Having a “small” bump. You know the phase where you have a bump that is big enough that everyone knows you’re pregnant, but small enough so you aren’t super uncomfortable. I am very past that phase. My toddler likes to say mama is too big. I also am having a hard time holding my toddler. When trying to read to her, I can’t really fit her on my lap. She also literally sits on my belly bump when I carry her.

Movement: The kicks are so strong and there are so many! I love that I can now watch my belly and see it moving. It is pretty fun.

Dr. Update: This week, I cut my leg on a really rusty piece of metal at a gas station. Needless to say, this sent me into panic mode because I had no idea if I was up to date on my tetanus shot and no idea on how urgent the shot was since I am pregnant. I can’t get the TDAP vaccine because I am allergic to the pertussis part of the vaccine.

To make a very long story short, after calling the midwife, I then had to find an urgent care facility that was open (because this was of course the weekend) and get the TD form of the vaccine. After a full Saturday wasted on this ordeal, everything is good.

Exercise: No

Stretch Marks: No

Swelling: No

Maternity Clothing: All maternity clothing. Absolutely loving my maternity overalls this week, they are amazing in the summer heat. I got them from maternity motherhood, their prices are amazing. If you haven’t found fantastic maternity underwear yet, check these out.

Labor Signs: No

Wedding Rings On: No. They are off for good until post-partum.

Belly Button In or Out: OUT!

How I’m Preparing: Now that we are 33 weeks, we are making our final baby to-do list and also assigning due dates for each item. This way we can focus on one item a week. I have a few house projects that need to get done. I know I won’t be able to declutter, re-organize or re-arrange until many months after baby is born.

Therefore, I am prioritizing household function this time around. Another project I have is doing freezer meals and stocking the pantry with non-perishables. I will also stock the house with toilet paper, shampoo, etc. to lessen any shopping after baby arrives. I also really want to finish a baby quilt because I made L one and she loves it.

The hospital bag will be week 37 along with finalizing labor and delivery logistics. For a complete detailed list of ways to prepare in these final weeks, check out Alli’s hospital bag and bringing baby home posts.

Best Moment of the Week:  Starting to plan L’s 2nd birthday. Her birthday is three weeks before the due date so hopefully I will be able to attend it. Depending on when baby is born, they might have very close birthdays.

I had so much fun planning her first birthday and making a digital chalkboard poster. If you want to use my template, you can download it for FREE here. We did a duck theme for her birthday with a little kid pool and rubber duckies.

Since it’s summer, we are going to do a kid pool and sprinklers this time again. I am still working on a theme. I want to strategize how to make it fun without it being a lot of work since I am so close to baby 2’s due date.
