Our content standards

• Answer a distinct reader question rather than repeat a product description or fill a word-count target.
• Link health, safety, and technical claims to relevant primary sources.
• Explain the assumptions and limits of each diagram, checklist, or calculator.
• Separate general information from decisions that require individual professional advice.
• Credit authors and professional reviewers only when records support the specific contribution.

Professional review credits

Professional review is article-specific. A team member's qualification in one subject is not evidence of expertise in every subject. We do not claim completed medical or specialist review where no named review is credited. Source citations alone do not constitute independent professional review.

What we will not claim

• That a product was tested without documented testing.
• That a calculator, checklist, or room drawing certifies safety.
• That a person reviewed an article simply because their name appears in a template.
• That a new design or automatically generated date makes advice current.

Sources and commercial content

Our guides are written for a US audience. We reference relevant public agencies, professional bodies, and manufacturer documentation for their respective subjects. The library focuses on informational guidance rather than ranked shopping lists and affiliate widgets.

Report an issue through the contact page, including the article URL, the passage in question, and a reliable source if available. Please do not send private medical records.

Examples, images, and tools

Worked household examples are labeled as illustrative; invented prices and timings are not market quotes or observed research results. Editorial imagery may be generated and does not document a reader’s home, product testing, or a medical assessment. A drawing shows the concepts described in its caption.

Each calculator explains its arithmetic and assumptions. A fee comparison does not evaluate childcare quality, a cost comparison does not rank equipment, and a layout does not certify safety. Worksheet entries remain in the page; the registry and hospital checklists explain their browser-saving behavior beside the controls.

Revision dates

The October 8, 2026 edition includes rewritten introductions, expanded worked examples, planning records, consolidated related equipment topics, and updated site navigation. Its revision date records that editorial change. It is not a claim of independent medical review or a date automatically refreshed when the website is rebuilt.
