Total Weight gained: 4 lbs
13 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms: Being in the warm weather definitely helped me feel better. I am still taking the B6 with the Unisom, which has been making a tremendous difference. I also don’t even try to get out of bed. Instead, I have a ziplock of saltines on the nightstand and before even sitting up, I munch a few down.
Cravings: Chocolate chip cookies, yum! And ice cream, specifically a drum stick and frozen yogurt, specifically original with M&Ms. Sugar anyone?
Aversions: Still no go on Alfredo sauce. I also learned that the smell of cooked mushrooms is too much for me. In general if it’s healthy, it isn’t for me this week lol.
Sleep: The place we are staying in Florida is much better than DC for sleep, so I am starting to catch up and even sleep in a little. Sleeping in for me is 8 am…
Excited for: Finding out the gender. We know we will hear back very soon. It will be so exciting and sweet to find out.
Missing: With morning sickness being so awful, I am missing my “normal” level of morning sickness. I never thought I would say that.
Movement: No
Dr. Update: No
Exercise: Cole and I played some tennis, which was fun. I haven’t played in years and forgot how much I enjoyed it. I wish we could play year around but with a toddler and living in the Northeast, it isn’t really in the cards yet.
Stretch Marks: No
Swelling: No
Maternity Clothing: Still only wearing my (all-time favorite) maternity jeans from Stitch Fix.
Labor Signs: No
Wedding Rings On: Yes
Belly Button In or Out: In
How I’m Preparing: Now that we both have different jobs than we did when we were pregnant with L, it is important to check all the details of my maternity leave and Cole’s paternity leave. This allows us to start thinking and discussing the to-do list associated with taking leave after we announce our pregnancy. Examples of topics include informing bosses, determining a visitor schedule for baby’s birth especially if you have out of town guest, starting to think about scheduling a shower, and starting to look and get on daycare waitlists.
Best Moment of the Week: Taking L to the beach! She hasn’t been since she was 3 months old and I would walk up and down with her in a Boba Wrap as the sound of waves lulled her to sleep. It was terrific to see her excitement at jumping in the waves. She also had a blast digging in the sand.
