A bottle warmer is something that warms up a bottle for a baby, whether it be full of breast milk, formula, or whatever else you use. Most bottle warmers can also be used for baby food jars, so they maintain some relevance even after the tiny and helpless stage.

There are two types of bottle warmers: ones you use at home or travel bottle warmers. Of course, you could technically argue that one could use a travel bottle warmer full time, but that's not what most parents do. Ideally, you'll have the best travel bottle warmer and the best home bottle warmer, too.

Why Do You Need One?

The FDA warns against putting bottles in the microwave; it can overheat them, which is going to be extremely harmful to a baby. A bottle warmer will heat up the milk evenly and gradually, which will prevent it from going bad or overheating and burning the baby.

The best travel bottle warmer will allow you to heat up bottles on the go, so you won't have to resign to using a microwave or running out of options and giving your baby a cold bottle. You can also use it to heat up baby food, usually, so it's helpful for older babies as well.

How We Chose the Best Travel Bottle Warmer

A lot went into picking the best travel bottle warmers since the market for them is so wide. Everybody and their mother seems to have a baby these days, so it was important to weed through and really pick out the cream of the crop.

First, we looked at how they heated the milk. The best travel bottle warmer should also come in handy in case of a mishap, like a power outage, so most of the ones we chose don't use electricity. However, there were a few, because everybody has different preferences.

Next, we looked for the easiest to clean. Babies are messy, so odds are, you will eventually need to clean something off of it. A lot of the warmers we chose were stainless steel, or at the very least, easy to wipe down.

We also looked at the types of bottles they accommodated. The best travel bottle warmer isn't going to fit one very specific type of bottle and then nothing else. We only chose warmers that would work for a large range of bottles and gave bonus points if they work for baby food jars.

The Best Travel Bottle Warmer

After some serious researching and slight amounts of inner turmoil, we came up with a list of options that compete for the best travel bottle warmer. Some will probably work better for you than others, but that will vary from parent to parent depending on your needs.

Overall, all of the options we chose for the best travel bottle warmer will do what they're intended to do: heat up bottles. If you're more of a bells and whistles kind of person, more power to you. You're certainly not pressed for options, but in a pinch, any of these will get the bottle warmed so you can get the baby fed.

Papablic Travel Baby Bottle Warmer

Papablic makes one of the best travel bottle warmers on the market. Unlike some of its competitors, you do not need electricity to use this bottle warmer. If you find yourself in a power outage, Papablic's bottle warmer would be ideal and safe to use. In addition, it isn't bulky at all; it's about the size of a typical thermos for coffee or tea.

Unfortunately, there are some bottles that won't fit this warmer, like Tommee Tippee bottles. That's a pretty popular brand, so if you have those bottles and use nothing but, it won't be the warmer for you. However, if you do use others, then it would be great; it has top-notch safety features and the stainless steel makes it easy to wash.

Eccomum Bottle Warmer

Eccomum's Bottle Warmer is another fantastic option for the best bottle warmer. Unlike some others, it will fit all types of bottles, and it will heat up baby food, too. If you have a few kids of different ages, then you might find that it's the perfect solution.

The product prides itself on being extremely user-friendly; there are four total buttons, a digital display, and a reminder. The reminder will go off when the bottle finishes heating. That makes it great for those moments when you have to step away because your kid thinks a pebble is a gourmet meal.

Though the product is pretty compact, it is a little bit bigger than some of its competitors. In addition, the device is run with electricity, so it wouldn't be the best for emergencies.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Travel Baby Bottle Warmer

Tommee Tippee is a coveted brand all around when it comes to baby needs. Their bottle warmer is no exception. Like some of the other best travel bottle warmers, it's a thermos, which will fit nicely in your diaper bag and be useful in emergencies.

Don't let the name brand scare you, though, the warmer will fit all standard sized baby bottles. You can choose to buy them in packs of one or two, which is great for people with multiple kids for more efficient heating.

Kiinde Kozii Voyager Travel Bottle Warmer

Kiinde's Kozii Voyager definitely sits at the cool table as far as travel baby bottle warmers go. Like most others, it employs the thermos to keep water warm on the go. However, this one has a container that's 100% leak-proof and doubles as the warming container.

You don't need electricity with Kiiinde's product, and you won't have to worry about the water getting cold since the thermos has triple walls of insulation. The warmer also works for heating up baby food.

Lekebaby Insulated Baby Bottle Tote Bags

Lekebaby's bottle warmer is a little more outside the box than some of the other options available. It's actually a bag, which can fit two large baby bottles and even some snacks, but it's lined and insulated. If you're on the go and need to keep a bottle warm, it's the best way to do it.

Though the product doesn't initially heat the bottle, it is said that if you put a small heat pack in with your bottles, it acts as a heater. If you're on the go and in a pinch, throwing in a heat pack and warming a bottle for a trip to the store is an easy fix. The bag also serves as a cooler.

Philips Avent Fast Baby Bottle Warmer

The Philips Avent bottle warmer is more of a traditional bottle warmer but made compact for travel. It also heats up baby food and will thaw and heat breast milk from frozen. Though you'll need to plug in, the product would be an excellent solution to warming bottles if you travel and stay in hotels often.

the Avent warmer only heats about four ounces of milk at a time. If your baby is eating more than that, it will take multiple trips to the warmer to satisfy them. However, if you're weaning them off of the bottle, it would be great for the smaller amounts you're aiming for.

Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature Portable

Tommee Tippee honestly changed the game for best travel bottle warmers everywhere. Instead of being a traditional thermos or plug-in option, the warmer is like a heating pad for baby bottles. You wrap it around the bottle, which distributes the heat.

Then there is a USB plug that you can plug into an adapter and put in the wall. You can also use the USB in your car or even plug it into your computer. If you're looking for a more techy option, these are a good start.

The Tommee Tippee bottle warmer also comes with a few different options for color and pattern. Any options for pattern or color are something no other products have had so far. Unfortunately, heating pads tend to heat unevenly, so be cautious and make sure to check the temperature before you give it to little Timmy.

Wustrious Travel Bottle Warmer

Wustrious also employed the technology involved with using a USB to heat the bottle. However, instead of being like a heating pad, it's more like a cup holder. That might produce more evenly heated milk than the heating pad competitors. It's not going to depend on how tightly the bottle was wrapped.

Besides eliminating the possibility of human error, the bottle warmer also comes with digital settings that will allow you to see if your bottle is properly heated. There are a few settings that will tell you roughly the temperature of the bottle and what you need to do to fix it, if anything. In addition, there are a couple of options for color, both of which are pretty cute.

Be Safe With the Bottle Warmer

The best travel bottle warmer will most likely have some kind of automatic shut off function. However just to be safe, make sure to shut it off as soon as you finish.

Keep it out of reach of the baby even when it's not in use. Some of them have plugs and babies like to eat stuff that isn't food. The warning also goes for the best regular bottle warmers.

Parents can sometimes be forgetful, especially with a newer baby. Be careful not to burn yourself with the bottle warmer; wait for it to cool before you touch it or use an oven mitt. The last thing you're going to want when you're handling babies all the time is a burnt hand.

Checking the temperature of the milk is also extremely important. If you have an electric travel bottle warmer and you notice it starting to short out or heat unevenly, get a new one. Saving a few extra dollars by stretching it out isn't worth risking burning the baby or giving them an improperly heated bottle.
