You want to make sure everything is taken care of before the party so you can be fully present with your family and friends.

Below I have listed some important points that you want to take into consideration while planning your gender reveal party.

  • Pick A Time: Who has to be at your party - no exceptions? Choose a date and time in which those people can attend.
  • Invitations: Who do you want to be there on this special day? Make sure to send the invitations out a few weeks prior so people can mark it down on their calendars.
  • Theme: Will there be a theme, and if so, what will the theme be?
  • checkThe Reveal: How do you want to reveal the gender? If you do not know the gender prior to the party, enlist a close family member or friend to help with the reveal.

You never want to enter a party stressed out, especially with a baby on the way. By making sure these factor are determined, you will be able to enjoy the party instead of freaking out about a forgotten detail.

Party Themes

Sometimes parents like to add a theme to their gender reveal party as an extra element of style and fun. Let's take a look at some different theme ideas

1. Blue vs. Pink

Have all of your guests wear the color they think it's going to be. You can split these colors into two teams and play games - a great time for a competitive family.

2. "What Will It Bee?"

Deck out your party with bee-themed decorations. Not only is it super cute, but it's gender neutral as well.

3. Ultrasound Party

Instead of bringing your family and friends into the exam room with you, why not bring the exam room to you? Some couples have admitted to hosting live gender reveals at home. It is a more expensive service, but if you're looking for something unique yet very personal then this a viable option for sure.

4. A Gender Reveal Surprise Party

Invite everyone over without telling them what you're doing. When they find out that it's a gender reveal party, seeing their excitement will be something that you'll cherish forever!

5. Sports-themed

Will the baby be a quarterback or a cheerleader? If you're a couple who loves sports, this theme can be a fun way to incorporate this passion.

6. Fiesta

Having a serious hankering for tacos? If you've got a case of some pregnancy cravings, try throwing a fiesta! Not only will you be able to serve up some amazing food, but you can have fun with the decorations and music as well.

7. Starry Night

"Twinkle twinkle little star, how we wonder what you are!" Deck out your party space with stars. It's a very easy theme to execute, not to mention it looks incredible.

8. Holiday-themed

If your baby is due near a holiday or you are planning your party close to a holiday time, consider using the holiday as your theme. At Easter, for instance, consider giving each guest a plastic egg with a pink or blue candy inside. For Christmas, you could try wrapping small packages with tiny gender revealing objects inside.

Gender Reveal Ideas

1. Fireworks

Buy a bunch of either blue or pink fireworks depending on the gender of  your baby, and light them at the end of the night. This is an excellent idea for those who are having their party near Independence Day or Memorial Day. It's festive, and who doesn't like a good fireworks show?

2. Pinata

if you don’t like to take things too seriously, have a pinata and blindfold the hitters. This idea would work well with a fiesta-themed reveal party. Just fill the pinata will either blue or pink candy and you're good to go!

3. Not Your Average Balloon Pop

Pop a balloon to reveal the gender of your baby, but not the traditional way. Instead, tape a bunch of paint-filled black balloons to a large canvas. You and your spouse throw darts, until they all pop. The color of the paint inside will reveal the gender!

Pro Tip:

Get varying shades of either pink or blue paint to create a unique art piece you can keep forever.

Put either a girl or boy onesie in a wrapped box. Upon opening it, family and friends will be able to see the gender.
