Wendy Tischler Thomas is a Child Passenger Safety Technician and Technician Instructor certified through Safe Kids Worldwide, the national certifying body in the United States. She has been carrying out car seat checks since 2006, became a Senior Checker in March 2011, and qualified as an instructor — training other technicians — in February 2014. In July 2014 she completed additional training in transporting children with special health care needs. She has worked with Safe Kids Eastside, Safe Kids King County South, Car Safe Kids and Safe Kids Wake County in North Carolina, and practises as an independent technician. She is a mother of two, and has been involved in child passenger safety since her older daughter was born in 2002.
