How to prepare a kiwi fruit for baby food

While kiwifruit skin is full of nutrients it is quite hard to digest, particularly for a baby. In order to prepare a kiwi fruit for a baby food recipe, we are going to need to separate the skin from the juicy flesh inside.

  1. Cut your kiwi fruit in half along its horizontal. If you look at the cut section be left with a lovely seeded pattern surrounding a white circle
  2. Slide a teaspoon between the skin and the flesh and twist it around the edge of the fruit.
  3. Once your spoon has done a complete rotation, slide it under the flesh and, with a flick of the wrist, the flesh should come out in one piece.

This technique will require some practice but, once perfected, is a very effective way of removing kiwi fruit skin.

If you simply cannot get the hang of the above method, you can always use a vegetable peeler to remove the skin. Just be mindful that the softer the kiwi fruit, the harder it will be to use a vegetable peeler.

Now that you know how to prepare your kiwi fruit, let us take a look at some tasty baby food recipes featuring the star of the article, the kiwi fruit.
